Theme based Pinball Machines made their first appearances after World War II, and over the
next decades, Batman, Twilight Zone and Kiss Pinball Machines; pinball games which are based
on their respective shows and characters have become very popular world over which revolve
around the characters and the story lines of the shows themselves.
The Twilight Zone Pinball Machine was based on a TV series which was aired during the 1980s
and was designed by Pat Lawlor and was released in 1993 by Midway under the label of Bally,
and is a part of the same line of wide body games under WMS’s SuperPin series, which also
includes Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventures and the Star Trek: The Next Generation. After
the success of The Addams Family Pinball Game, the Twilight Zone Pinball Machine was launched,
and became immensely popular, and according to fans, it was one of the most complex games ever
to be designed. The Gum Ball Machine, Power Field, and the Powerball are amongst its most
famous features, and its pinball is basically made of ceramic and is lighter and non magnetic
as compared to the standard steal ball. The background music of the game is a remix version
of the theme music of the original show. Twilight Zone Pinball continues to be one of the top
rated pinball machine games according to the Internet Pinball Machine database.
Kiss Pinball Machine was first introduced by its manufacturer Bally in 1978, and many
actual and virtual Kiss theme based pinball games with some changes have been launched over
the decades. Kiss Pinball is basically based on a rock band called Kiss which was formed in
New York in 1973. It is basically a budget game and was available for only $9.99 when it was
first released, but is basically a more of an average game, that has only appealed to the
more die hard Kiss fans. Also, instead of a song by Kiss, the manufacturers have added a rock
style soundtrack to go with the game. The design is based on minimal requirements, and is not
very attractive as one might expect. Overall the game is just plain average, and the game
according to most players seems very stiff and not very responsive. Having a Kiss Pinball
Machine is compulsory if you are a Kiss fan, as this would do great in your memorabilia
collection, or even if you are a pinball machine collector. The original machine was coin
operated, but more modern versions are a better alternative.
Batman Pinball Machine is basically based on the DC Comics popular hero Batman and his action
packed adventure movies and has been developed through a partnership between Warner Brothers,
DC Comics and Stern Pinball, and has seen many versions being launched since it was first
released in 1991 and is based on a 1989 Batman movie. It has been designed by Lyman Sheats,
who had also designed the Lord of the Rings Pinball Machine. It offers many exciting
Batman, Twilight Zone and Kiss Pinball Machines, albeit their drawbacks, continue to be an
integral part of pinball fans even after the passage of more then a decade.

Pinball Machines have gone through a huge transformation over the past 70 years from classical
pinball machines to coin operated used in casinos and today’s electronic ones. Modern Pinball
Machines were used as gambling devices initially just like many of their mechanical game
counterparts. For example, Bingos by Bally used to have a grid in a scoring area which had
spaces to correspond with targets and holes placed on the playfield on the back glass. Winning
a certain game allowed the player to accumulate a large number of free games as prizes, which
could be exchanged for cash from the owners of the gambling outlets. Afterwards, in order to
spread the popularity of this game, gambling was discontinued with Pinball machines to avoid
legal complications and regulations, and instead players were given the option of playing
extra balls if they won. During the early 1940s, Pinball games were banned in New York and
the ban ended only after Roger Sharpe testified before a committee in a court in 1976 admitting
that pinball games are now based on skills of the person, and are no longer treated as games of
chance, by playing the game itself displaying his skills on a pinball machine. The verdict was
followed by many other cities across the United States; while in California, the Supreme Court
in 1974 allowed Pinball games only if they did not involve gambling. Pinball machines are still
banned in many countries over the world, due to their fame as gambling devices. But they are
being popularized by fixing the label “For Amusement Only” to again bring back its past glory.
During the Depression years of the 1930s, coin operated pinball machines became a hit all over
the United States, and were back then known as pin games. The table which featured all the target
s and the plunger device to propel the ball were placed under glass, and after David Gottlieb
launched his Baffle Ball in 1931, coin operated pinball machines became an overnight hit, and
the first machine used to cost $17.50, and for just a penny, players were allowed to play
between 5-7 balls in the game. This was one of the best cheap entertainment alternatives
available to the depression ridden American society of that time, and Gottlieb sold nearly
50,000 units and founded the first Pinball Machine manufacturing company. This event saw a
pinball machine games craze explosion. Ray Moloney produced his own machine design by the
name of Ballyhoo and founded his own company by the name of Bally. In 1944, Harry Williams
established his own pinball machine manufacturing company after the success of the pinball
machine game Contact which used to run through electricity. The use of electric lights became
popular and a standard for all pinball machines being manufactured after Contact.
The post World War II era saw the introduction of theme based pinball machines by different
manufacturers. Pinball saw another boom after the Americans started visiting bars and pubs in
large numbers, and this age saw a lot of innovations in pinball machine technology.
Technological evolutions in different machines, and the invention of the microprocessor further
revolutionized the pinball machines and games. The first electronic pinball machine known as
the Hot Tip was released in 1977, which added fancy sound effects and speech to the machines.
The introduction of gaming consoles and popularity of computer games saw the downfall of
coin operated pinball machine games by the 1990s. But the Pinball Machines continued to
thrive in the Modern Digital Age and electronic pinball machines were given different
themes such as those from The Addams Family, Indiana Jones and the Star Trek: The Next
Generation. Pinball Machines also traveled to Asia and Europe, but with the arrival of
Computer based Pinball Games, many manufacturers have stopped due to low profits.
Pinball Machines have defined an exciting age of Human History, from the Classical to
the Coin Based to today’s Electronic Pinball Machines; they will always be remembered as
the cheap entertainment alternative that they offered during the darker days.

The artwork of the Simpson’s Pinball Machine game was basically developed by the Simpsons creator Matt Groening together with Fox Studios. It also features voices of different characters using the vocals of voice actors Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright and Hank Azaria. According to the developer Gary Stern, the game, while made to appeal people of all ages, is basically aimed at adults between the 20-40 age range. The game is being developed further to continue meeting the expectations of its players. and is known for its humor that makes adults of all ages and background laugh till they

addition to the famous lines of the show’s characters. The game basically offers three levels
of speech which can be adjusted by the user including Adult, Moderate and Family. The pinball
machine has a unique feature by the name of Stewie’s mini playfield which is a small pinball
playfield with mini flippers, and can be enjoyed when the game is in he Stewie-Mini Playfield
Mode. Other features include character figures of all the Griffin Family Members, with a number
of other exciting features which makes it one of the best selling modern day Pinball Machines.
Amongst the Pinball Machines, the Addams Family Pinball Machines has been the best selling
pinball machines ever, with sales of approximately 20,000 units. When the Addams Family
Pinball Machine was released, video arcade game sales were experiencing a decline a in
popularity due to the rise of console games and computer based games across the world.
Pinball Machines also went through technological innovations, with the addition of newer
machines that could now perform the game play together with the video and audio
simultaneously and more smoothly. Also, the introduction of the character figures like the
Thing, made it even a more popular choice.
The Simpsons, The Family Guy and the Addams Family Pinball Machines continue to be very
popular amongst pinball fans, and lead a market of their own.

These days, you can buy pinball machines at a number of places where you can find new,
antique and used pinball machines, with cheap versions of pinball machines available very
easily. Before you make the decision of purchasing a pinball machine, you should compare
their prices by either browsing on the internet, or by checking out at different stores
selling or trading them. This way, you will also get to know what is available in the market
and also will help you make the right decision.
One option when you decide that you want to buy a pinball machine is to approach the
manufacturers themselves, and their details can be found over the internet together with the
products they are offering, but buying the machines directly from the manufacturers has its
own drawback. Usually manufacturers sell pinball machines in bulk to either stores or arcade
gaming avenues, and therefore you can expect them to charge you a full list price for any
machine.
Another alternative is to purchase used pinball machines. The biggest advantage of buying
used machines is that these machines are cheap as compared to new pinball machines. But
you have to remember the fact that used pinball machines do not come with a guarantee, but
then this drawback is overshadowed by the fact that pinball machines do not really require
a lot of maintenance, and you would rarely come across the opportunity of spending a sizable
amount if they go broke or are in need of repairs.
A great place to find cheap pinball machines are the flea markets, and while it may sound
like a very flimsy idea, but they are definitely are an untapped source, but finding these
machines easily these places would not be very difficult. You can find them mostly near
electrical plugs at the market, and you can always test and check them out before you buy
them to take with you. Flea markets are a great place to buy pinball machines because you
will come across amazing deals.
Antique Pinball Machines are also an option, and collecting them is a wonderful idea and
very worthy. Antique Pinball Machines for sale can be found at estate sales, fairs and
live collectible auctions, but the best place where you can be sure about finding them
would be at antique shops. But you need to be alert while making a deal here. Antique
Pinball Machines are pretty expensive because they are considered as a premier choice
for collectors. Also, you will also need to test them and check whether they are in working
order. It would be great if electricity is available at the purchasing venue, and you can
always test the machine. If the owners refuse any such privilege, you can get the idea that
there might be something wrong with the machine itself.
You can buy pinball machines, ranging from cheap used pinball machines to the more expensive
antique ones. New or used pinball machines are easily available at most pinball machine stores.
